Here Are Your Tasks: 24 + 1 By May 20
By Friday May 20, let's see who can place the following artefacts into their e-portfolios/blogs:

3.Reading
    1. CLB5R Read letters to an advice columnist in the newspaper to decide whether you agree with the advice given.
      1. Do you agree with the advice given here?
      2. Email Aunt Aggie what you think about her advice. Summarize in a sentence the situation, and comment on her attitude towards Josephine. What did you like or dislike about it, specifically? Do you think her advice was smart? Or helpful to everybody in general?
      3. Ask yourself: Did you identify specific factual details and implied meanings; purpose of the message; reader/writer relationship; mood and attitude of the writer; and context, register and style?
 1. Do you agree with the advice given here?
  •  I didn't agree with Aunt Aggie's advice.
     2. Email Aunt Aggie what you think about her advice. Summarize in a sentence the situation, and comment on her attitude towards Josephine. What did you like or dislike about it, specifically? Do you think her advice was smart? Or helpful to everybody in general?
  • Dear Aunt Aggie, I didn't like your advice. Smoking in Canada is banned in workplaces and other public spaces. Smoke-free laws are public policies. So it is an absolute right for Josephine. Passive smoking is harmful to other people's health. Second-hand smoke causes disease, disability, and death. Your advice was not helpful to Josephine.
     3. Ask yourself: Did you identify specific factual details and implied meanings; purpose of the message; reader/writer relationship; mood and attitude of the writer; and context, register and style?

  • I think The writer didn't want to help Josephine.  Maybe she smoked too.
    1. CLB5R Follow instructions on how to unclog a drain using a commercial product.
      1. Put the following instructions in the correct order:
        • After clearing clog with Drano® Max Gel Clog Remover, follow up monthly with Drano® Prevention to prevent future clogs.
        • Before going on to the second step, lock cap, pushing down on cap and screwing on tightly.
        • First, carefully push down on childproof cap with palm of hand and turn cap counterclockwise. Don't squeeze bottle or splash product. (Clean up any spills at once.)
        • For garbage disposal drains, follow steps two through four. If drain does not clear, do not turn on disposal since Drano® Max Gel Clog Remover may splash back. Consult plumber.
        • For tough problems, allow 30 minutes. Flush with hot water. Repeat steps two, three, and four if necessary.
        • Second, for use on clogged or slow-running drains, pour one half of the bottle (32 oz. size; one fourth of the 64 oz. size) slowly over drain. For extremely slow-running drains or complete clogs, pour in entire contents of 32 oz. bottle or one half of the 64 oz. bottle.
        • Third, allow to work for 15 minutes.
      2. What is a cheaper and more effective way of dealing with clogged drains? If your uncle is about to buy some Drano® product to unclog a drain at home, how will you advise him? Record your 60-second advice on Chirbit.com.
        • Ask yourself: Did you interpret sequence and location signals (such as first, next and before); and follow instructions and directions by responding with actions as required to complete task?

2.What is a cheaper and more effective way of dealing with clogged drains? If your uncle is about to buy some Drano® product to unclog a drain at home, how will you advise him? Record your 60-second advice on Chirbit.com.
I used cheaper seepages to prevent  drains from being clogged. Seepages have  enough  small wire holes that can prevent  large garbage blocks leaking down. Everyday I just need to put the garbage blocks out in time.
If my uncle is about to buy some Drano® product to unclog a drain at home, I will  advise that he should buy it for  monthly use to prevent future clogs. While using it he must  follow  instructions carefully.Especially, for safety, do not splash product. If drain does not clear, do not turn on disposal since Drano® Max Gel Clog Remover may splash back. Most important, Consult plumber if necessary.

    • Wound Cleaning – The first stage of wound care is to clean the burned skin. This can be done in several ways, depending upon how deep or serious the burn is. All wound cleaning is painful, and the patient is given both pain and anxiety (worry) medicines before cleaning begins. Initially burns will be cleansed by using a non-irritating soap and water, special medicines that are put on bandages that are changed twice a day, and the use of special equipment to remove the burned skin. It is very important to remove the dead skin as quickly as possible, since it can delay wound healing and may cause infections. If the burn is deeper, the patient is taken to the operating room, where the doctors put the patient to sleep and remove the dead skin with surgical tools. Removal of the dead skin in the operating room is called debridement or tangential excision, and is necessary to prepare the area under the burned skin so that it will accept a skin graft, if needed.
    • First, give some chocolate or candy to  the patient before cleaning, make the patient calm down.
Second, clean the wound by using a non-irritating soap and water.
Third, Be care for Putting bandages on the wound, and go to hospital.
    • Depending on how deep or serious the burn is. If the wound is deeper, I would like to ask help from neighbours take the patient go to the Emergency Room. Otherwise, I will tell my neighbours how to clean the burned skin. Wait for me to come home.

        • Thanks for your information. The cap is very cool!. I want to get one too. But I can agree with price only with reservations.
        • I am of a different opinion because the price of Outlet Collection at Niagara is expensive than J.crew's online store.
                    I will compare those.
This link is the price of Outlet Collection at Niagara. The discount is only 40% - 60% off. The final price is $55.5 plus Tax.
This is the price of J.crew's online storeThe final price is $22.49 plus Tax.
        • By the way, the problem is that the Outlet Collection is so far. Go there and back, although you live in down town we need more than 2 hours.  We still need to pay the gas cost.
        • So, think about my opinion.
                3. Ask yourself: Did you include important points with accurate details; convey a clear message; and record details (such as names, addresses, numbers, dates, times and directions) legibly, with correct spelling and other standard conventions of capitalization and punctuation?
